Christmas '09 = Good Times!

Christmas Eve with the Zbeeb's and Christmas Day with the Clarkson's... what a great holiday season! Asa wasn't quite sure what was going on, but he enjoyed all the family time and cool gifts. For all the holiday pics, click here.

He Can Do All By Himself!

Mommy had to work late last night (yuck), so Daddy was on Asa duty alone all night. I got this video emailed to me (with the subject line the same as the title above) while I was working. Sucks that I missed it, but so exciting to see.

Asa is mastering the use of the spoon - not shocking since this kid seems pretty determined to master all things eating-related!

Watch out, Tom Cruise!

There's a new Maverick in town!
(Thanks Ann and Dan for the super cool bomber jacket.)

Still part of our zoo...

Although slightly ignored (by Mom), Barnibus and Lewis aren't roughing it in the Zbeeb Zoo, by any means. Thought they deserved to get on the blog without sharing the spotlight with their human sibling! Maybe Lew-Lew will get a pillow for Christmas.

All I Want for Christmas is...

Asa and Addie visited with Santa. There wasn't much talking going on, but we BELIEVE Santa knows what they want for Christmas.

The Zbeeb's Zoo'd it!

The Zbeebs (and Nana) went to the Atlanta Zoo yesterday. It was a great trip. Asa REALLY enjoyed it. He loved all the animals, even though he called all of them "duh" (dog).

Here he is feeding the parakeets. I couldn't believe he knew what to do. He watched Daddy and then crouched down and was so gentle and sweet. It was AWESOME!

Asa loved the long neck giraffes, but his favorite were the lions - they were very active yesterday.

Here's our baby cub!

Nana was over carrying the nearly 30 pounder. So, we walked... slowly, but we walked.

Nana and Asa as kangaroos!

Happy Thanksgiving!

What a wonderful day! Check out more pics here.

Hangin' with my cuz!

Asa put in some quality time with his cousin this weekend. Miller is only 3-weeks-old, but Ace found him interesting enough... at least enough to take a few pics.

Thanksgiving Dinner @ DHCDC

Asa's school invited the parents to have Thanksgiving dinner with the kids today. It was a very nice break from the norm - so great spending time with Asa and his friends.

Yes, sweet Caroline fell asleep at the table -
turkey does it to the best of us!

Oh Happy Day!

Happy Halloween!

The day started with a birthday 'party' for Baby Clarkson (name coming soon). He was born at 7:25am - 7 lbs 8 oz 19 in.
This holiday baby is adorable!!!

Then, we got Asa all frogged up - and he was lovin' it.

Finally we found a pumpkin patch - on concrete, but that's how we roll in town!

No trick-or-treating this year, but we're working on our walking,
so next year our neighborhood better watch out!

Hey Doc, Trick or Treat!

Asa went to the doctor today for his 12-month check up. He went as a skeleton to remind the pediatrician of her days in medical school! He was hoping it would mean no shots, since he knows those go straight into the muscle (or maybe in his case, fat), but that trick didn't work on the doc. Unfortunately, the boy got 4 shots, including his H1N1 vaccination. Asa really does well with shots - and by well, I mean he gets over it pretty quickly, but this round of shots was tough to handle. I think the older he gets, the worse shots are. Worse on his parents, too, because we hate to see our little man in pain.

On to the treats - we know you want to know what his stats were. Asa is up 2 inches in height from his 9-month check up to 30in tall, keeping him in the 50th percentile in height. What he lacks in height, the boy makes up for in width... I mean, weight. :-) Asa jumped up 5lbs from his last visit to 25lbs 12oz, which also jumps him from being in the 25th percentile to the 75th+++ percentile. The doc said he's banging on the door of the 90th percentile, but she didn't 'officially' mark him down as such on his chart. I told her that he thanks her for being sensitive to his round belly. Finally, a percentile that remains tried and true for Asa is the 90th percentile in head circumference. His head is 19in round - just about as big as the belly!

While Asa is now officially a toddler, the doc assures us that the multitude of changes we've seen over the past year will continue into the upcoming year. Mobility and speech being the top two we can anticipate! I can't tell you enough how much I can't WAIT to hear Asa speak. I already know his voice is going to melt Mommy and Daddy's heart because his smile can do that in 2.2 seconds. Of course, we'll keep you posted on all the new and fun experiences to come.

Druid Hills Child Development Center - Fall Festival

There was a Fall Festival today at Asa's school. He was a bit young to really enjoy it, but we think he had fun in his own way. At least the boy looks like he's having fun!

What a Wonderful Weekend!

Asa turned 1 on Friday and we celebrated all weekend long!

First stop - the Georgia Aquarium...
Next, Johnny Rockets for a good ol' meal and rockin' tunes...
Next day, we threw a big time 1-year-old party!
And what's a birthday without CAKE!
Throw in some bubbles and we're having a slammin' good time...
Happy Bday Asa! You're only 1 once!

Thanks to everyone that made it perfect!

Lexington Vacay

We had a great trip in Lexington with Pops! Asa had his 1st birthday party with all the KY fam - and even had balloons, gifts, and ice cream cake! For more pics of the trip, click here.

Asa's Big Day

We started the morning at the Cut Zoo - for Asa's first haircut! It was PAST due. Asa was going to have to be a redneck for Halloween if we didn't cut off his mullet.

Asa now sports a BIG BOY haircut!

This afternoon, we made it to HippoHopp for Riley's 3rd birthday!

Finally, we ended the night with a walk around the block in our fancy new backpack carrier that Mommy scored from a recent kids consignment sale!

The boy had a big day - for more pics, click here.

Puzzling!

This morning was puzzling to the kids at daycare -
was it breakfast or playtime?

Yummy - these puzzles taste good!
