I'm a Helluva Engineer!

Well, helluva Director of Communications for Mechanical Engineering, anyway! I am excited to finally report that I am returning to Georgia Tech. It will be like a homecoming for me - and I can't wait. This week I accepted an offer that I couldn't refuse. I am so grateful for the opportunity to get back to my roots.

The Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering is the oldest school at Georgia Tech, offering the first degree of the Institute. Currently, they are the top producers of bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering across the country, as well as the leading producer of graduate degrees to women and minorities in the U.S. Further, ME is one of the largest schools within the College of Engineering, with over 1850 undergrad students and 825 grad students.

My role as the Director of Communications will be an exciting one. I'll be updating (well, revamping) their web site, creating and managing their social media, and producing print and electronic materials, including brochures, newsletters, handbooks, annual reports, etc. I am assured that this is a challenging position with the ample requests for quality communications materials, but based on my 4+ hours with the search committee and other faculty and staff, I am also confident that this will be a fun position working with a great team.

Thanks to all of you who were my support group over the last several months while I pursued this opportunity. I am elated about the change and look so very forward to settling into my new role.
